Eating Right To Get Pregnant Increase Your Odds

in: Pregnancy

What are your thoughts on the food that you consume having a direct correlation to how your body reacts throughout the day? Do you notice that if you eat an extra amount of sugar foods how you may feel a little more sluggish later on in the day? Here is an easy one how about a cup of coffee keeping you awake or waking you up? How about the good old turkey dinner at thanksgiving making you feel sleepy.

Ok so we all know about these food examples having a direct effect on our bodies within hours of us eating the food. Well now how about taking that one step farther for those of you that are trying to get pregnant and not having any luck. Do you take into consideration that the diet you eat on a daily basis may be the very thing stopping you from getting pregnant?

There has been some good research done lately on how the diet you follow may absolutely be effecting your chances to concieve. For example if the main source of iron in your diet comes from red meat that can be harmful to your chances where as if you get a high amount of iron in your diet from things like supplements, beans, fruits and vegetables. These resources for iron have a much more positive effect on your system. There also seems to be a direct correlation in the amount of trans fats you consume as those seem to be very good at decreasing your odds of getting pregnant. What a surprise that pretty much covers all processed foods. I suppose it’s a good thing that most foods have adopted a no more trans fat policy for making foods. Considerable eveidence points to the more you stay away from processed foods and go to a whole foods diet that your odds of getting pregnant do increase.

A good resource to really get some good information on eating right to get pregnant is The Fertility Diet book. The research for this book involved 19,000 women who were all trying to get pregnant the study was called the Harvard Nurses Health Study. I highly recommend the book for anyone looking for a relatively low cost and easy way to increase your odds of getting pregnant. Watch the following video to get a little more information on the book.
