The authors of the report A Measure of Survival: Calculating Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Risk warned that teenagers, whose pregnancies were often unplanned, run a higher risk of complications in pregnancy and childbirth. The report also found that while Britain was one of the safest countries for pregnancy and childbirth, it was still only 19th safest – behind countries including Croatia, Cuba and the Czech Republic.”
